Fellowship
What strikes me as particularly powerful about these events is the combination of intentionality and openness they offer. We offer regular, low-pressure opportunities for people to connect in different ways—through faith, food, service, and fun. The consistent rhythm of these gatherings allows people to build deeper relationships and grow in their sense of belonging to both the church and the wider community. It’s through these shared moments that the church family becomes a true “family” in the best sense.
The Men’s Breakfast on the second Saturday of each month is a great example of a consistent, casual way for men in the congregation to gather, encourage one another, and share life. Such gatherings can be incredibly meaningful, especially for creating a space where men can talk openly about their faith, challenges, and the ways they can serve the church and one another. To make these breakfasts even more impactful, you could consider having a brief reflection or Bible study time alongside the meal, or invite guest speakers to talk about issues like spirituality, fatherhood, or community leadership.
The potlucks and parties are another excellent way to strengthen community bonds. Breaking bread together is such a powerful expression of fellowship in the Christian tradition, and these gatherings can be a place where families, singles, and people of all ages can interact outside of the typical Sunday worship service.
Events like the Independence Day Picnic and December community cookie bake also provide opportunities for us to gather together.
